12. Primary Purpose of the Position
13. A Lower School Classroom Teacher fosters a dynamic, inclusive, and student-centered environment that nurtures curiosity, creativity, and a love for learning. The teacher designs and delivers engaging lessons across core subject areas, ensuring that students in Grades 1–5 develop strong academic foundations, social-emotional skills, and critical thinking abilities, while embodying the school’s mission and values.
14. Main Duties and Responsibilities
15. Plan and implement instructional units across core subjects (literacy, mathematics, science, and social studies) aligned with grade-level expectations and school curriculum.
16. Differentiate instruction to address the varied learning styles, abilities, and needs of students.
17. Utilize diverse assessment methods to monitor student progress, providing timely and constructive feedback.
18. Create a safe and welcoming classroom environment that fosters respect, collaboration, and student agency.
19. Support students in developing social-emotional competencies, resilience, and positive relationships.
20. Integrate technology and hands-on learning experiences to enhance student engagement.
21. Communicate regularly with parents/guardians about student progress, classroom activities, and strategies for home support.
22. Collaborate with grade-level colleagues, specialists, and administrators to plan curriculum, events, and interventions.
23. Organize and lead class projects, field trips, and school community events.
24. Participate actively in professional development, faculty meetings, and school initiatives.
25. Certifications and Education - Required
26. Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education or a related field.
27. Valid teaching certification/license for elementary grades (U.S. or internationally recognized equivalent).

29. Master’s degree in Elementary Education, Curriculum and Instruction, or related field.
30. Specialized training in literacy, mathematics instruction, or inquiry-based learning.
31. Experience - Required
32. Minimum of five years of classroom teaching experience.
33. Demonstrated experience teaching literacy and numeracy in early and upper elementary grades.

35. Experience teaching in an international or multicultural context.
36. Familiarity with inquiry-based learning, project-based learning, or constructivist approaches.
37. Experience with co-teaching or working with learning specialists.
